This is so new! We get to write about whatever we want! It doesn’t have to be about English or assignments! Well I guess I can write about whatever is on my mind, so I’ll do just that!
Last night I went to the Iron & Wine concert at the Student Union. I have been wanting to see Iron & Wine since I was a freshmen in high school. They came once before the summer after my freshmen year, but I missed it because I was on a trip to China with my high school. After going to the concert last night, I would have gladly missed out on going to China to see a performance like that. I like to think I’m a pretty chilled out person, and no music is comparable in chill out-ness to Iron & Wine. He has so much material that there’s no way he could ever play all his songs, but all the songs I was hyped for coming in, with one major exception, he played. As he walked off the stage at the end of his set, I was left with my two favorite songs still not played, Resurrection Fern and Love Vigilantes. Fortunately, we were a good enough crowd to persuade him to come back for an encore, and he played an incredible version of Resurrection Fern. I think its really cool how he changes the songs up when he plays solo. Its totally understandable; most of his tracks are multi-layered and use a couple guitars to record the whole thing, but all he had up there was himself, and his friend Rob Burger, a multi-instrumentalist. I was so incredibly excited to hear that he was coming to town, and I was also incredibly excited that it was completely free to go to! If you have never listened to Iron & Wine, I suggest you fix that right now!
