I'm feeling good today English class. I just got back from my soccer team's first game of the state playoffs, and we won. Its the first time our school has won a playoff game since 2002, and it was also at home for the first time since 2000. We played Central Crossing from Grove City. They were a fast and physical team, but they weren't organized enough to create any actual plays; they just tried to kick it over our defense and hope our players didn't get to the ball first. Fortunately, the one time their player got to the ball first, he shot it way over the goal. Our defense played one of the best games yet this season, mainly because of my friend Stefan playing as sweeper; the last line of defense.
The final score of the game was 3-0, and it was really good to get a shutout in our first playoff win in so long. We are going to have a lot of momentum going into our next game against Dublin Jerome. To be honest, Dublin Jerome should crush us, but it will be an interesting game. We are playing away, on Jerome's turf field which is really nice. We have a lot of momentum going into this game, and the way we've been playing the second half of this season has been really impressive. We beat the rival Clintonville team, Watterson, two weeks ago in what proved to be the biggest upset of the season. They came in expecting to walk all over us, but we played really hard and beat them 2-1. Hopefully Jerome thinks they're gonna have a walk in the park with us, because we know we have nothing to lose and we're gonna play hard.

  1. I liked reading this. I love sports. Including High School Sports. When I was in high school, I would love to go to as many sports team's games I could. Now in college, I love going to College sports. I hope your team goes on to win the State Championship. Don't lose confidence. Go into the game looking to beat the other team, regardless if they are favored. Let me know what happens.
