I've been thinking of places I'd like to go around the world recently, and I've come up with a few priority options. First of all I would love to go to Rome. I have been to several cities in Italy, but never to what I think is the main one to go to. So much history is in that city, and I think it is one of the essential spots for World Travelers. I went to Venice, Italy when I was in elementary school and that was very nice, but I'd like to go back without parents and at my age. Another place I'd like to go to Athens, in Greece. I've been to some obscure island off the coast of Greece, but I have never been to Athens. I am particularly interested in Athens because of the Classical Myth class I have been taking. It would be cool to just do a Greek survey of all the big cities from myth. Another place I would like to go is Ireland. I went to Ireland for ten days over the summer, but I think it would be great to go back with my outdoorsy friends and hike some of the famous trails, maybe go up to Northern Ireland to see Giant's Causeway or something. It is really beautiful in Ireland, and I think it would make a great spot for a Honeymoon or something. Although that makes me think about the Bahamas. I've never gone on any Caribbean cruises or anything like that, but from what I hear they sound incredible. Let me know what you guys think of world travel.

ReplyDeleteROME ROME ROME ROME ROME I LOVE ROME! I went 2 summers ago and I have to tell you it's astounding. It's simply gorgeous and amazing and every street corner you turn you find some famous historical place and omg it's the best. If you ever go make it a priority to go visit the Sistine Chapel. It's absolutely gorgeous...I was there for maybe 3 or 4 hours just staring at the ceilings and I could only get through half of the place. If I had the chance to go back I'd go in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeleteI also went to Athens that same summer. It was nice but if you ever go to Greece I'd suggest going to Mykonos Greece. It's that famous place where all the buildings are white and the water is a gorgeous deep shade of blue and green. It's amazing.
The number one place I want to visit is Barcelona. I might go this summer...can't wait :) I love traveling!!
I have a very good friend who studied abroad in Rome. He absolutely loved it. he said his first class for one of his classes was in the collusseum. You can't really beat that. He is back in the US finishing up his senior year now, and says he kind of misses it.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind going to Italy either, i would want to go to Sicily and see where my great-grandparents grew up. I would also like to go to Ireland. I was only there for a couple of days when i was in the military, but it was the most beautiful country i had ever seen
